Client Project: SSE Oral Histories

Capturing experience. Preserving legacy.

SSE commissioned a series of oral histories to capture the experiences of its workforce during a period of change, preserving knowledge and recognising the people behind the organisation.

What we delivered:

We delivered a structured filming programme, combining thoughtful interview design with high quality production. Working across locations, including Pitlochry Dam, we created a calm, consistent environment that allowed honest, personal stories to emerge.

Over three shoot days, we captured voices spanning 60 years of the Highland Grid. The result is a series of filmed interviews, edited films for internal use, and a curated archive of long form content for future communications.

It was a moving experience as the men revisited their journeys, sharing memories that shaped this legacy.

The films now support wider storytelling around The Highland Grid book, while strengthening internal engagement and preserving knowledge for the future.
